Has he done enough this season to boost his value among other NHL teams? It's hard to say with certainty at this point, but against all odds, the 28-year-old Quebecois could very well make a big splash in free agency, as several factors work in his favor.
On one hand, he is currently ranked 21st among top-scoring wingers who should be available this summer, and he remains an excellent playmaker. Another interesting aspect is that he is the fourth youngest winger available this year, which could put him in an advantageous position.
As he is still in the prime of his life and could greatly benefit from a change of scenery, Drouin could attract teams looking to acquire a good veteran, who could become a hidden offensive asset.
Among many players available in their advanced thirties on the market, he could be one of the most interesting and youngest available wingers, signing a favorable contract for both him and his future organization.
