It's now confirmed that Kirby Dach will miss the remainder of the season. He will undergo knee surgery for two ligament tears, which means approximately nine months of absence.

It's truly unfortunate, especially considering he's only 22 years old and in the prime of his career. Many people are concerned about his abilities upon his return, and with good reason.

Not only will his morale take a hit, but will he be able to play the same way? Will he be too fragile?

According to TSN analyst Craig Button, there's no need to worry, and his statement is quite encouraging.

"There was a time I might have said, 'Yes, there might be cause for concern.' However, if Kirby Dach were a different type of player, if he were reckless on the ice and put himself in vulnerable situations, that might add a bit of concern, but he's not that type of player, and thanks to medical science advancements for these types of injuries, I have no doubt Kirby Dach will come back stronger and as good as he was."

So, it's quite clear that Dach has every chance of coming back at 100% and being the same type of player he was before his injury. However, it remains a concern that he gets injured frequently, and let's hope that bad luck will leave him.
