Very interesting last-minute statement from Alex Newhook on the Canadiens
While he was at a press conference to discuss several important points, including the extension of his contract which was just announced by the Canadiens today, Alex Newhook made a very interesting statement about his new organization.
The new number 15 of the CH mentioned that he was looking forward to playing for a head coach like Martin St. Louis, stating in passing that he will finally be able to express himself freely on the ice.
"It's very exciting for me, I can't wait to play for him and I'm sure I can learn a lot in a short time."
The 22-year-old also made a strong impression by stating that he has much more to offer than his performances over the last two seasons, and that the change of scenery will give him better opportunities to showcase himself.
He also mentioned that he was eager to join a young team like the Habs, in addition to being very excited to have more offensive opportunities in Montreal.
"Certainly moved to be traded, but at the same time, a lot of excitement coming to a younger team with more opportunities than what was in Colorado.
It's an exciting opportunity for me; an exciting place to live, being in a big city close to home, in a big market, I can't wait to be there!"
We are very excited to see Newhook in action next October and he himself stated that he can't wait for the next season to start.
