A Hometown goaltender signs with the Canadiens organization
Today, there was action in the Canadiens organization as goalie Zachary Émond signed with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
"Zachary Émond will be back for a second season! The player who achieved two consecutive shutouts in the regular season last year will make a valuable contribution defending the felines' net! Welcome back, Zach!" - Trois-Rivières Lions
Zachary impressed in the QMJHL, leading to his selection in the 6th round by the San Jose Sharks in 2018.
He becomes the ideal backup for the Laval Rocket in case of injuries to their goalies.
In the ECHL, he posted save percentages of 0.907 and 0.936 over the last two seasons, which is very good and puts him close to the American Hockey League level.
He also played 12 games with the San Jose Sharks' AHL affiliate.
Zachary now becomes the 5th goalie in the Canadiens' organizational depth chart, behind Samuel Montembeault, Cayden Primeau, Jakub Dobes, and Connor Hughes.
