Alex Barré-Boulet's next destination is now known and it's not Montreal
Alex Barré-Boulet was placed on waivers on Sunday in order to be demoted to the Laval Rocket, and his fate is now known.
Indeed, ABB will be joining the Laval Rocket, he who was not claimed on waivers.
It's really too bad, because we thought he would finally have a real chance with the Canadiens, but he was caught off guard by youngsters who were more ready than we thought.
Youngsters like Oliver Kapanen and Emil Heineman undoubtedly played a role in Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis' decision to send him on waivers so early in the season.
ABB had a good training camp, even though he was preferred to a youngster like Joshua Roy, but we have to admit that he will be a big help in Laval.
So it is after only two games, no points and a differential of -2 that the forward's journey with the Canadiens ends. I don't know if his bad game against the Bruins was fatal, but he hasn't been back since.
Oliver Kapanen and Emil Heineman have really won their bet and they are officially part of the Montreal Canadiens. We will now wonder what will happen when Patrik Laine returns.
It should also be mentioned that Michael Pezzetta is left out, but he remains with the team. He will have to be playing at some point.
