Carey Price had quite the career in the NHL, but what many people will remember is that he didn't lift the Stanley Cup.
In fact, it was the only thing he didn't win in his glorious career. He won every other individual and team trophy that is possible for a goalie.
It's simple, to me, Carey Price deserves to have his jersey retired by the Canadiens one day. His presence in the Hockey Hall of Fame is also assured.
If we go back 20 years, Carey met his future wife, Angela. On October 17, 2004 to be exact.
Angela Price published a beautiful memo to mark the occasion, and she brought up an anecdote from a time when she was supposedly unfavorable to him and they weren't allowed to see each other.
Carey was playing for the Tri-City Americans in 2004 and he had not yet been drafted by the Canadiens.
20 years ago today, I went on my first date with Carey.
My friend Lauren Watson introduced us, and we went to the Red Robin for a double date. I couldn't help but notice his big hands, and I thought his Canadian accent was very special.
The next night, I went to his game and he had given up a ton of goals.
Eventually, his coach came over and told us we couldn't see each other anymore because I was a distraction.
So we met in secret, and it added an element of excitement that probably contributed to our long-term commitment to each other. (laughs)

Today, the two have three beautiful children and are blissfully happy.
With the career that Carey has had, it's safe to say that Angela hasn't been detrimental to him or his performances, far from it!
