Anthony Mantha to Montreal: Kent Hughes just had the rumor confirmed

A new player has officially entered the availability list for Kent Hughes, as Anthony Mantha has received confirmation that he will be a free agent on July 1st.

This is not a huge surprise, as he was clearly a rental player for Vegas and they don't have the means to sign him. Mantha will be able to test the market in July.

Another opportunity opens up for Kent Hughes, who is looking to improve his team's offense. Mantha, at the right price, could be a solid acquisition that wouldn't cost anything since he is a free agent.

For several weeks, rumors have been circulating that Mantha would become a free agent and that the Golden Knights would not retain his services.

The player himself has just confirmed it.

"Vegas made it clear that they were not going to re-sign me. I'm excited, but at the same time, I'm stressed as everything comes into play," he said. "We'll see, whether it's on July 1st or a little later. Hopefully, we'll have some good news."

Let's wish Anthony the best in finding a new team. One thing is certain, he will have to accept a pay cut, but he should, much like Jonathan Drouin last year, find a team to play with.
