CH: it's confirmed for Jeff Gorton and Geoff Molson closes the case

The owner of the Montreal Canadiens, Geoff Molson, has closed the file on a rumor involving Jeff Gorton, the team's Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations.

Indeed, since Jarmo Kekalainen was fired in Columbus, several rumors have suggested Jeff Gorton could become the general manager there. He fits the profile they are looking for, as they are in a rebuilding phase.

When asked about the subject, Geoff Molson made his stance clear. It is not going to happen.

"The chances that I allow the Blue Jackets to talk to him are zero." - Geoff Molson

There you have it, the matter is closed. Jeff Gorton is doing excellent work alongside Kent Hughes, and Molson has no intention of letting him go or allowing another team to speak with him.

As for the rumor, Molson assures that it is entirely false.

"I read the rumors in the papers as well. The first call I made was to Jeff Gorton," Molson recounted in an exclusive interview with Renaud Lavoie on TVA Sports.
