Funny scene: Tiny Conor Garland took on big Arber Xhekaj
There are some players who are not afraid to stand their ground, or who are simply unaware of the situation. Arber Xhekaj is a formidable fighter, but he certainly won't drop the gloves against a small player like Conor Garland.
It could have happened if the sheriff was used to picking his fights, but that's not the case. Garland took him on twice on Thursday night, but the difference in size is striking.
"Connor Garland, 5 feet 10 inches and 165 pounds, takes on Arber Xhekaj after the whistle. I don't know if it's courage or madness." - Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
Indeed, Garland gives up 6 inches and 75 pounds to Xhekaj. Let's just say these are quite uneven matchups. The Canucks forward, however, showed great courage in standing up to such a colossus.
For comparison, Arber Xhekaj has 172 penalty minutes in 89 NHL games. Garland has 148 minutes in 392 games.
We can see that these are not two similar players in any way. Kudos to Xhekaj for not escalating the situation on these two occasions. Even Michael Pezzetta pushes him around like a rag doll.
