You can feel the frenzy taking over fans in Montreal and across the NHL. We can't wait for the return of hockey and our favorite players.
Each year, there are great discoveries, but also some big oversights. That's part of the game. This year, a forward is shining by his absence, and no one is talking about it. It's Jacob Perreault.
Acquired in exchange for Jan Mysak last March, the 27th overall pick in 2020 is still recovering from surgery and is practicing alone in Brossard. We've had some images, courtesy of Anthony Marcotte.
Jacob Perreault recorded 2 points in 13 games with the Rocket last season and is not really a candidate to cause a surprise and secure a spot with the Canadiens, but he could be important for Laval.
He had his best professional season in 2021-22 with the Anaheim Ducks' AHL affiliate, where he collected 37 points in 55 games, which is very respectable.
We wish him the best of luck this year. He has something to prove, and he certainly has the talent to aim even higher.
So far, he has only played one game in the NHL with the Ducks and did not record a point. Is the next step to surprise this season and earn a call-up from Kent Hughes?
