Kent Hughes loves to add conditions to his trades, often making them quite complicated to understand.

For example, the Sean Monahan trade could have given the Canadiens an additional pick if the Jets had won the Stanley Cup.

We now know that's not the case, and the Canadiens will receive their first-round pick on June 28, but it added a bit of excitement.

Moreover, Kent Hughes finally knows what he has, as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.

Kent Hughes Finally Knows His Draft Position
The end of this series confirms the position of the Jets' pick, which belongs to the Canadiens. It will be the 26th overall pick.

While the most optimistic hoped it could be the 22nd pick, that won't be the case.

"With the 2nd RD in the books, we now know the order of the first 28 selections in the draft next month.

24- Colorado #GoAvsGo
25- Ottawa #LetsGoSens (from BOS)
26- Montreal #GoHabsGo (from WPG)
27- Carolina #CauseChaos
28- Calgary #Flames (from VAN)" - CapFriendly

The name Sacha Boisvert is frequently mentioned at this rank. A native of Trois-Rivières, Boisvert plays in the USHL and is very promising.

As for Sean Monahan, he will try to sign with a contending team on July 1, and he will likely find a suitor with a nice salary increase.
