It's now confirmed for Kent Hughes, the Canadiens, and Marco Rossi
We all have our eyes on Trevor Zegras and Martin Necas right now, but Kent Hughes might surprise us and make another acquisition, like Marco Rossi, for example.
Indeed, the Canadiens GM has accustomed us to not acquiring the player most coveted and targeted by fans.
Although he did inquire about Zegras and Necas, Hughes is known for surprises. We were expecting Pierre-Luc Dubois in Montreal and we got Kirby Dach.
Then, we were expecting Alexis Lafrenière or his teammate Kaapo Kakko, and we got Alex Newhook. This year, it might very well be Marco Rossi, and it's even confirmed.
Kent Hughes has a genuine interest in the young forward from the Wild.
The Wild has made Rossi available for trade and is looking for a "hockey trade," talent for talent exchange. Rossi is a restricted free agent in July and many teams will be calling.

Once again, Kent Hughes is in trade rumors, and he's even among the favorites to acquire a young top 6 forward.
With 40 points in 82 games in the NHL last season, there's no doubt that Rossi is the type of player Hughes is after, and he would come at a lower cost than Zegras or Necas.
