It's certain that this could change because there are several uncertainties. Firstly, the Canadiens don't officially know their draft position yet, and it all depends on the players selected ahead of them.
In any case, the Canadiens are likely to pick between the 5th and 8th positions, and a player has been targeted. According to reports from Stéphane Gonzalez at BPM Sports, the management has met with Tij Iginla no less than four times so far.
The son of former NHL star Jarome Iginla, Tij Iginla is a left-handed center standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 186 lbs, at just 17 years old. He has amassed 84 points, including 47 goals, in 64 games this season in the WHL.
He seems to be a prolific scorer like his father, which is far from negligible. If he also has his father's character, he will be quite a player in the NHL.
For the Canadiens to have met with him four times, it's not by chance. The team loves him, that's for sure. Once again, it all depends on the draft position and the available players, but the Canadiens seem to be leaning towards a big-bodied forward.
There's also Cayden Lindstrom, who is very interesting, but he's not expected to be available at the 7th pick. This is a situation to follow closely...
