Since the acquisition of Patrik Laine and the selections of Ivan Demidov and Michael Hage in the first round, it seems that Kent Hughes will be patient, but it might not be so straightforward.

The GM is involved in several discussions, including one about Yaroslav Askarov, but the Predators wanted Jacob Fowler, and the price was too high.

When looking at the positions that need improvement, it's clear that there is a lot of room for growth in the offense, and according to Marco D'Amico, Kent Hughes is still very active.

"The Canadiens have informed their counterparts that they are not seeking lateral moves and are looking to make clear improvements in needed positions."

So, there won't be any "patchwork" in Montreal, but significant trades could indeed occur. Names like Justin Barron, Jayden Struble, and David Savard are involved in almost all rumors.

Personally, I believe the Canadiens should continue to progress. Trying to acquire star players right away might be a bit premature.

Kent Hughes knows what he's doing, and I trust him. The acquisition of Patrik Laine is another great example. One thing is certain: the Canadiens are headed in a very positive direction, and the future looks promising.
