Major announcement from the Canadiens today involving a hire?
The Canadiens have positions to fill in their offense, which comes as no surprise as Kent Hughes tries to add more goals.
The general manager and his assistant, John Sedgwick, have other priorities as well, given that there is no head coach for the Laval Rocket and a missing assistant coach for Martin St-Louis.
In this regard, Anthony Marcotte hinted that the announcement of the Laval head coach could happen today, based on what he is reading between the lines.
"I'm being whispered that an announcement is imminent for the head coach position of the Laval Rocket. Some candidates have learned in the past few hours that they did not get the job."
- Anthony Marcotte
It's worth noting that JF Houle left his position just a few days after signing a three-year contract extension.
For the Canadiens, the successor to Alex Burrows is still unknown as well. We know that coaching staff spend a lot of time in the summer establishing game patterns and strategies.
It's about time these matters are resolved so both teams can progress.
