We have been eagerly awaiting the verdict regarding the replacement for Patrik Laine on the Montreal Canadiens' second line, and Martin St-Louis has just confirmed.

Indeed, it will be Joel Armia, against all odds. Perhaps we expected more Joshua Roy or Oliver Kapanen, but it is ultimately the Finn who has prevailed.

This is quite a contrast to last season, when he was placed on waivers to join the Laval Rocket around this time.

There are even more surprises in Martin St-Louis's lineup.

As you can see, the first line is the only one that remains intact. Oliver Kapanen is among the extras, which is surprising, while Emil Heineman is ahead of Josh Anderson and Christian Dvorak has been outpaced by Jake Evans.

In short, there is nearly $20 million in salary on the last two lines, which is a bit less than what we find on the top 6. That's way too much money for energy players.

It is also worth noting that Joshua Roy is not present. He has been cut and will join the Laval Rocket, along with Logan Mailloux and Jakub Dobes.
