Martin St-Louis opens up about the Canadiens' scouting team
Although Martin St-Louis excels at bringing out the best in every player, especially the young ones, it is not his responsibility to find these young talents.
That task falls to the scouting team, whose job is to uncover hidden gems from all corners of the globe. They are numerous and must work together.
Then, all these scouts and the team's management meet to make decisions when the draft comes around. They have very little room for maneuver.
Ultimately, it all falls into the coach's hands, and it's he who must help them perform up to the organization's expectations. This role can be very rewarding but also very thankless.
Martin is therefore directly dependent on the work of the organization's scouts, and he had a lot to say following the first preseason game.
