Patrik Laine is injured for two to three months, which is much less severe than anticipated, and Martin St-Louis will be able to count on his return to play by Christmas.

If we rely on Laine's work ethic, who was always the first on the ice and the last to leave, his rehabilitation should go well. Hard work and dedication will be present.

It's quite evident that the Finn was happy to play in Montreal. He loved coming to the CN Sports Complex and the Bell Centre, and his actions demonstrated that.

It was the mission of Martin St-Louis and the entire Canadiens staff to ensure Patrik Laine was happy and enjoyed playing hockey, and that mission has been accomplished.

This is what will hurt the most following his injury, according to the coach.

"The first objective with Patty [Laine] was to make sure he was excited to come to the rink, and he really was.

[...] So it really hurts because he was excited to come to the rink..."

- Martin St-Louis

Martin St-Louis speaks about the group that made sure Patrik Laine felt at home, that he was in a supportive environment conducive to success. According to him, this is what is most unfortunate about his injury because he believes Patrik was part of all that.

The forward is quite a hockey player and not just a goal scorer. Yes, he specializes in lighting the lamp, but we saw him a few times during training camp; he can do whatever he wants with the puck.

When Patrik Laine decides to go to the opposing goalie, he can outsmart everyone and get there. He will be very exciting to watch when he returns in December or January.
