He genuinely wanted to come back strong and loved coming to the arena. The Canadiens welcomed him as if he had always been one of their own, and his integration was almost instant.
In fact, he was already showing what an impeccable work ethic looks like, arriving early for practices to work out on his own.
Cole Caufield seems to have learned from the master, as he started doing the same thing on Monday morning. The young forward was on the ice with Adam Nicholas at 10:30, well before the start of practice.
This is a great idea and clearly shows how positive Laine's arrival has been in the Canadiens' locker room. He came in like a breath of fresh air, despite many observers believing he would be a negative influence on a team.
I really hope the Finn will be back on his feet before the end of the season so we can get a good sample of what he can do. He's an incredible player capable of great things in this league.
Now, Cole Caufield is stepping up, and he certainly intends to light the red lamp more often than last year!
After scoring 28 goals, number 13 will surely want to surpass that mark, and he is currently equipping himself to achieve it.
