Indeed, with the dismissal of Dave Hakstol, the former coach of the Seattle Kraken, St-Louis becomes the 7th longest-tenured head coach in the NHL.
Furthermore, if the Maple Leafs are eliminated in the first round, which seems highly likely, St-Louis could climb even further. Sullivan could also be in the mix, although no announcement has been made yet from Pittsburgh's side.
Imagine if these two coaches lose their jobs in the coming days. St-Louis would become the 5th longest-tenured coach with the same team in the entire NHL, after just two and a half years.
This clearly demonstrates how difficult a position it is and that nothing should be taken for granted. There's a lot of turnover in this industry.
Also, consider the name of André Tourigny, who could very soon not be the trusted man of the new team in Salt Lake City, just like many others in the management of the Arizona Coyotes.
It's worth keeping an eye on, but watching St-Louis in action and the admiration that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton still have for him, he could easily break into the top 3 of this list fairly quickly.
