Being a player for the Habs means that your personal life is always in the spotlight.

Even during the summer, one of the Montreal Canadiens players is the subject of all gossip blogs and magazines.

In an interview on the Cam and Strick podcast, forward Michael Pezzetta revealed that he is now a free agent in the love market.

Let's just say the host helped him open up. He played along and seems at peace with his new relationship status.

No posts from him or his partner had hinted at anything, but his response suggested that the couple might no longer be together.

The latest news was that he was in a relationship with Quebec influencer Mireille Boutin, who is followed by nearly 50,000 people on social media. Without confirming he was single, he didn't deny the American host's statement that he was single.

«Yeah, well, since I've been with Montreal, I had a girlfriend... So we'll see how it will be next season (with a big smile), but yes, Montreal is really a fun city. [...]»
