We are all excited to know who this pick will be, who will be available, and if the organization will surprise us once again.
We know that the Canadiens want a forward, and they have just proven that this is indeed the case. No less than three forwards will be met in the coming hours, at the time of writing.
Obviously, these are possibly virtual meetings, but it speaks volumes about the club's intentions.
At the 5th rank, it is logical to believe that the Habs have a choice to make between Demidov and Lindstrom, assuming both players are available.
They will make a final decision following these meetings. As for Eiserman, I believe Kent Hughes might surprise us and move up his 26th overall pick to select him around the 10th rank.
A few months ago, Eiserman was seen as a potential top 3 pick, but he has significantly dropped in the rankings since then.
However, he has 25 goals in 24 games in the American Program. He is a scoring machine and is even better than Cole Caufield at the same age.
It should also be noted that Eiserman is one of the youngest, if not the youngest player in this draft class. He will be 18 on August 29. If he were born a few days later, he would only be eligible next year, and he would certainly have a chance to be the first overall pick.
If Kent Hughes manages to get Lindstrom or Demidov, and also moves up his 26th overall pick to select Eiserman, the future of the Canadiens' offense will be very bright.
