The Canadiens have just made a firing and we have the details
This news has gone somewhat unnoticed, but the excellent Arpon Basu has reported that an important member of the Canadiens is no longer with the team.
Adam Douglas, who was the director of sport science and performance, is no longer a member of the Montreal Canadiens.
Douglas' work was especially important during the Combine, and it was his absence that led Basu to the information.
«A personnel change noticed at the Combine.
Very quietly, without any announcement, the Canadiens have recently parted ways with their director of sport science and performance, Adam Douglas.
Douglas played a very significant role at the Combine, analyzing all the data from the physical tests of prospects. This role was filled this season by Dale Lablans, who is the Canadiens' strength and conditioning coach (assisted by Stéphane Gervais from the Laval Rocket).»
This serves as a reminder that players, coaches, and upper management are not the only important members of a team.
The Canadiens' recent drafts have gone very well, so the reasoning behind this decision is unclear. Nonetheless, we wish Adam Douglas the best of luck in his future endeavors.
More details will follow.
