The successor to Crosby, Kane, and Bedard in the Canadiens' sights?
When we think of Sidney Crosby, Patrick Kane, and Connor Bedard, and then imagine that the Canadiens could have a player who accomplished something as great as they did, optimism runs high.
With the 5th overall pick, the Canadiens will have another promising young player with great potential, and one of them has achieved something remarkable.
Berkly Catton isn't usually mentioned in top 5 discussions, but that's a mistake, in my opinion.
The Saskatoon native is the 4th player in the CHL since the new millennium to score 50+ goals and 115+ points in his NHL draft-eligible year, following Crosby, Kane, and Bedard.
Every CHL draft-eligible skater to produce 50+ goals and 115+ points in the 21st Century:
 Sidney Crosby
 Patrick Kane
 Connor Bedard
 Berkly Catton
Fade Catton at your own peril.
- Cam Robinson
With a tally of 54 goals and 62 assists for 116 points, Catton is definitely among the elite across Canada.
He will need to bulk up, as his 170 lbs aren't enough, but once matured, he should be quite a player.
We will see on June 28 who the Canadiens choose, but don't be surprised if Catton makes a leap and goes 5th overall.
