It's currently training camp, and as every year, Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis will need to make cuts.

There are currently 59 players registered, and that number is set to drastically decrease in the coming days. In fact, Martin St-Louis gave a good hint that this could start as early as today.

After Thursday night's game in Toronto, he admitted that several of his players were at the end of their competitive window. Looking at the roster he had, we can already guess a few names that should be leaving.

Heineman-Dvorak-Newhook

Roy-Kapanen-Armia

Barré-Boulet/Beck/Kidney

Tuch-Gignac-Pezzetta

Hutson-Barron

Struble-Reinbacher

Xhekaj-Engstrom

Dobes and Hughes

It's quite clear that Ryley Kidney, Brandon Gignac, Adam Engstrom, and Connor Hughes will be cut, not to mention all the other invitees who have absolutely no chance of making the team.

I haven't included the names of Owen Beck, Oliver Kapanen, Luke Tuch, and others for obvious reasons. They could still surprise, and they still have their spot after the first wave of cuts.

The Canadiens should announce their first wave of departures in the coming hours, and a good dozen names should be included, which is completely normal.

We will see more of Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Patrik Laine, and Kirby Dach, which is also to be expected.

For Jakub Dobes, do you think he's done enough to shake things up?
