The Matvei Michkov saga has been making a lot of noise for the past year, and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon, much to Daniel Briere's dismay.

Indeed, rumors suggest that the 7th overall pick in 2023 could come to play in the NHL next season, but his arrival would come at a price that Briere may not be willing to pay.

With John Tortorella as head coach, it certainly won't fly in any case.

"If Michkov does not play on Philadelphia's first line, he will return to SKA."

I can imagine Tortorella's face when Briere tells him he absolutely must play Michkov on the first line even if he possibly doesn't deserve it.

We're talking about an extremely talented player, but one who seems to have a very arrogant attitude. Demanding to play on the first line even before taking his first strides on a North American rink is highly frowned upon.

Moreover, the young forward keeps commenting on and liking posts about him going to the NHL. It really seems like he believes it and that's what he wants, but Briere will have a decision to make.

Once again, we're talking about a very talented player who could become a true star, but he'll have to learn to be a real professional first.

With this kind of attitude, I fully understand Kent Hughes and his team for not selecting him.
