MAJOR: Nicolas Deslauriers found his man in the fight of the year in the NHL
There's currently a young rookie making headlines in the NHL as the Rangers' giant prospect, Matt Rempe, is literally tearing everything apart.
In his 4th game, here are his statistics:
"Matt Rempe's NHL career so far:
-4 GP
-3 fights (1 in outdoor game)
-1 ejection
-27 PIMS
He still has more PIMS than total ice time in his career."
At 6'8" and 240 lbs, it's safe to say that the 21-year-old has the physique for the job. But the Rangers were playing against the Flyers on Saturday afternoon, and Nicolas Deslauriers was certainly not going to be impressed by the young player.
He dropped the gloves against him, but it didn't end well. Nicolas held his own, but he clearly couldn't compete against Rempe's reach.
Clearly, the fight of the year in the NHL, reminiscent of the good old times when players would throw punches without much protection.
