The mega deal sending Cutter Gauthier to the Ducks in exchange for Jamie Drysdale has stirred a lot of discussion. It's a good trade for both clubs, but it's Gauthier's attitude that has captured attention.

When drafted, the young forward wanted to play for the Flyers, but he ultimately decided to snub them. He didn't show up for training camp and didn't even provide a reason. He completely ignored Daniel Brière.

The Flyers' GM had no choice but to trade him, even though it wasn't the initial plan. The good news is that he was able to acquire a fantastic young defenseman in return.

It's known that Brière offered Gauthier to Kent Hughes for his 5th pick in the last draft, but the Canadiens' GM refused and selected David Reinbacher, a decision that turned out well.

"Regarding this, journalist Renaud Lavoie mentioned in an article about Gauthier that he would have refused to sign with a Canadian team. The Canadiens wouldn't have been able to sign him even if they wanted to.

Of course, it's important to recall that Gauthier was offered to the Canadiens in the last draft. The 5th pick, which was used to draft David Reinbacher, was requested in exchange for Gauthier. The Canadiens said no."

At just 19 years old, Gauthier is already proving to be a handful. He should be excited about the prospect of playing in the NHL, but he's not settling for just that. The Ducks might find themselves with a challenging personality in their midst.
