Another former Canadiens player is available for free for the second day in a row
Yesterday, we learned that former Canadiens player Tyler Pitlick was placed on waivers. Unfortunately for him, he went unclaimed and will go directly to the American Hockey League (AHL).
Today, we witness a first in the NHL. It's now Rem Pitlick, Tyler's cousin, who finds himself on waivers, this time with the Blackhawks.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Rem Pitlick (CHI)."
It's quite unusual to see this happening. Interestingly, another Pitlick is still within the Canadiens organization, as Rhett Pitlick was drafted in the 5th round in 2019.
Regarding Rem, there's a possibility that he might get claimed. He can provide valuable depth at a low cost, as he did with the Canadiens when he was claimed in 2022, registering 26 points in 46 games.
