Chilling details on the tragical passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother
As you may have already seen, star player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew tragically died on Thursday evening.
The two brothers were on bicycles when they were hit by a drunk driver. Another case of drunk driving that destroys lives.
Details of the accident have just emerged, and it's clear that they had no chance of survival.
"The driver, a 43-year-old man named Sean Higgins, was arrested and is being held for causing death with a vehicle.
According to ABC, Higgins was driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Route 551 when he found himself behind two vehicles, a sedan and an SUV.
He reportedly passed the sedan by moving into the southbound lane, then ended up behind the SUV, which was approaching the two cyclists riding in the shoulder, heading north. The SUV then moved toward the center of the road to give space to the Gaudreau brothers, and that's when Higgins attempted to pass it on the right, striking the two men from behind." - TVA Sports
This is truly disturbing. We urge every reader of this article to be extra cautious regarding alcohol. Think twice before getting behind the wheel.
Our condolences to the family and loved ones of Johnny Gaudreau, who was set to celebrate his sister's wedding next weekend.
