Indeed, Martin St.Louis has long no longer needed to be introduced as a player, nor as a coach now. His record is far from stellar, but he has plenty of time to turn things around.
My colleagues from the Habs and LNH site started from an idea from my other colleagues from the Go Nordiques site to wonder about the possibility of seeing Martin St.Louis leave.
Just like them, I am convinced that it is not, except for one reason. The start of the season for the Boston Bruins has not been very glorious and their head coach could well be in an ejection seat.
Jim Montgomery is talked about as an excellent head coach. A man who has proven himself with several teams and who won the Jack Adams Trophy, awarded to the best coach of the regular season.
The results are not coming in Boston this year and we are talking about him more and more. It is certain that if he becomes free, he will be very coveted. Could Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton be interested?
It's definitely worth thinking about. Montgomery comes with an impressive wealth of experience, while Martin St.Louis is currently learning «on the job».
I don't personally believe that the Canadian would go for Montgomery, except perhaps as an assistant coach, but he will be so coveted that he would have a head coaching position elsewhere.
In my opinion, Martin St.Louis will not go anywhere other than Montreal for several more years.
