Return of the Quebec Nordiques: sensational news from the NHL
We've just received some very sensational news regarding the possible return of the Quebec Nordiques.
We know that Éric Girard, the Minister of Finance of Quebec, met with Gary Bettman last week in New York. At the time, there was thought to be a possibility of progress, but that's not the case.
Indeed, the relocation of the Arizona Coyotes is the hot topic right now. So hot that the NHL is preparing two schedules for the upcoming season.
One includes the team in Arizona, the other in Salt Lake City.
"Sources: #NHL is drafting two schedule versions for next season - one with #Yotes in Arizona, another with the relocated franchise playing in Salt Lake City.
Fluid situation. Lots of moving parts. Details on dual paths and a potential transaction." - Frank Seravalli
Reading between the lines, this means that the NHL's Plan B is to relocate the Coyotes to Salt Lake City rather than Quebec.
It's really sad for Nordiques fans who have been patiently awaiting the return of their team. With such an incredible arena like the Centre Vidéotron and such a passionate fan base, Quebec deserves to have a team.
