Since it's obviously a relocation, most of the players are known, but no moves have been made by this new franchise until now.
Indeed, a player has been signed, marking the first official move by the Utah team. Noel Nordh has signed his three-year entry-level contract in the NHL.
He thus becomes somewhat the face of the franchise, much like Reid Duke with the Golden Knights when he was the first player signed.
Drafted 72nd overall in 2023 by the Coyotes, Nordh is a 6'2" and 200 lbs forward. He has played in Sweden, with Brynas Jr. and Brynas in the country's top league.
So he's already used to playing against men and will likely join the future farm team of the Utah franchise.
One thing's for certain, signing his contract ensures he'll be able to participate in training camp in Utah, which is somewhat of a historic moment!
