TSN has compiled its list of the five players most likely to change teams by March 8, and not surprisingly, two Canadiens players are prominently featured.
Indeed, Sean Monahan and Jake Allen have been at the center of trade rumors since the beginning of the season, and Kent Hughes doesn't hide it.
While the plan is quite clear for Allen, who is officially on the market and attracting interest, it's more ambiguous for Monahan. The Canadiens' plan is not yet confirmed, whether Hughes will sign him to a contract extension or trade him.
Having a first-round pick is nice, but it seems Hughes is more in search of top prospects or young established players.
As for Elias Lindholm and Chris Tanev in Calgary, there's absolutely nothing surprising about them ranking ahead of the two Canadiens players. Both will be free agents at the end of the season, and Calgary seems to be heading straight for a rebuild.
