Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens reportedly have four players already targeted in case the team needs to make call-ups
With the current injury situation in this young season, it wouldn't take much more for a call-up from Laval. In fact, if the team were on the road right now, there might have already been a call-up.
Marc Antoine Godin played along with who might be called up if needed. Four names, including a defenseman, stood out:
"The recall of a forward from the Rocket would likely be a choice between Joel Armia, Mitchell Stephens, and Joshua Roy.
Regarding defense, if they need to carry a 7th defenseman in the short term, it might be simpler to call up Gustav Lindström and continue to develop the young players in Laval." Joel Armia could get another chance, even if it's as the 13th forward. If Hughes' choice is Joshua Roy, it might be better to give him playing time. Stephens and Lindstrom could serve as extra players, much like Armia.
Of course, we don't wish for more injuries, but at the rate things are going, we should be prepared for the worst.
