Major statement from a journalist involving Kirby Dach and Sean Monahan
While we are still recovering from the shock of the unofficial announcement of Kirby Dach's long-term injury, Renaud Lavoie made a statement that surprised many this morning on BPM Sports.
"I'll put things into perspective for you. I'm not saying I want to lose Kirby Dach. If I have no choice but to lose a center, I will lose Kirby Dach. Because Sean Monahan is significantly better than him."
- Renaud Lavoie Renaud defends his point by mentioning that Dach will be a more significant asset for the Canadiens in the long term, but for this year, the veteran is superior.
We're talking about an underrated player because he hasn't been healthy for a while. However, it should not be forgotten that he is capable of averaging a point per game and is only 29 years old.
Furthermore, he is strong in the face-off circle and very responsible defensively. In short, his contribution to the team is currently superior to that of Dach for this year.
We must admit he has a point. Monahan is somewhat of a hidden gem. He is highly versatile, and if he can remain healthy throughout the year, he will undoubtedly rack up his share of points.
However, what bothers me a little about this statement is the timing. People are still in shock, and already, we have a statement that's causing a reaction.
