Surprise at the Canadiens: Kirby Dach was present at practice for a very specific reason
As you may know, Kirby Dach is injured and will be for a long time. He still has a few more tests to undergo before a final verdict, but his season is in jeopardy.
For a player's morale who spends months preparing for the season and then gets injured in the second game, it's devastating. Fortunately, his coach and teammates are there to lift his spirits, and that's exactly what Martin St-Louis explained.
"We got to find a way to keep his morale up; him being around is not just going to bring him up but the group as well...it's a hard thing for a young player to go through what he's going through & we're going to help him."
- Martin St-Louis
Dach is present because he needs the team, and the team needs him. Making sure he feels involved, even if it's not on the ice, is an excellent way to keep his spirits up. Personally, I love it!
