The Edmonton Oilers have just made a big move
We have just learned that the Edmonton Oilers have just signed forward, Adam Erne, to a professional tryout contract.
Aged 28, this second-round pick, 33rd overall in 2013, has 355 NHL games under his belt, accumulating 40 goals and 89 points along the way.
He is certainly an excellent depth addition for the Oilers, as he has the build to play robustly, able to deliver hits and bring energy to his teammates.
He totaled a season of 20 points, including 11 goals in 45 games, during the shortened season, which earned him a two-year contract extension at $2.1 million annually.
In a well-oiled setup like the Oilers, Erne could certainly become an interesting low-cost piece to play on the team's bottom two lines.
