Arber Xhekaj news: he has understood the message, and he is feared in the AHL
Quietly, Arber Xhekaj has played six games since joining the Rocket. While his first game was more challenging and he went unrecognized, the opposite is true now.
Indeed, in addition to collecting three points, the sheriff is very physical, to the point where he intimidates his opponents. He commands respect, and that's priceless.
"Arber Xhekaj just shoved someone away from Jakub Dobe after the Rocket goalie made a save, said player turned, saw who shoved him and just grabbed a different Rocket player instead." - Scott Matla
When a monster-sized 6'4" and 240 lbs pushes you out of the way, you have to be brave or crazy to take him on. His work is highly appreciated with the Rocket, and it seems he has understood the message, especially since he has only received one penalty since joining Laval.
Perhaps his call-up to the Canadiens might happen this season after all. Stay tuned...
