While all eyes are dazzled by Juraj Slafkovsky's performances, Arizona Coyotes forward's Logan Cooley took advantage of Wednesday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks to assist the Canadiens with their upcoming first-round pick.

With a goal and an assist against the Vancouver Canucks, Cooley, who was drafted two picks after Slafkovsky in 2022, scored a beautiful net in overtime to secure victory for the Arizona Coyotes. He completed a brilliant pass from his teammate to help his team surpass the Canadiens in the overall standings.

This victory comes at a crucial time for the Arizona Coyotes, as they now have 73 points in the overall standings. The Canadiens had 72 points as of Thursday night, but with the loss in overtime, the team led by Martin St-Louis tied the Coyotes' points. Due to tiebreaker rules, Montreal remains behind the Coyotes with three games left to play.

Currently, the Canadiens rank 28th in the overall standings. They have an 8.5% chance of winning the NHL draft lottery.

Logan Cooley is helping the Canadiens not worsen their chances for the 2024 lottery, and it's being settled at the overall standings level.

Returning to Logan Cooley, the Arizona Coyotes' number 92 has scored six goals and 11 points in his last 10 games. He is one of the reasons why his team continues to lead the Canadiens in the overall standings.

With talented prospects such as Macklin Celebrini, Cayden Lindstrom, Ivan Demidov, Cole Eiserman, and Barkley Catton, fans dream of another young raw diamond to help the team reach the top of the Bettman circuit.
