Kent Hughes may have just given Cole Caufield a nice permission
As the season comes to an end, Cole Caufield may have received the blessing of Kent Hughes for a specific reason.
Indeed, the Canadiens' general manager may have agreed to release his young forward to go to the World Championship. It is a tournament that was won by Canada and Samuel Montembeault last year.
Recall that Bill Guerin, the GM of Team USA, sent a strong message to players who would refuse such an invitation. It is therefore wise for invited Americans to accept if they want to participate in the Olympics or the Four Nations tournament.
This means that a fine group of players will be present.
The United States is shaping up to have quite a team this year. For the Canadiens, aside from Cole Caufield, expect Samuel Montembeault, Justin Barron, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky, among others, to receive invitations from their respective countries.
