Connor Bedard seriously injured: it is now confirmed
It was last night that a dangerous hit involving young star Connor Bedard occurred, as Brendan Smith delivered a powerful check in the middle of the ice.
The young man immediately headed to the locker room and did not return afterwards. We were really hoping that it was nothing serious, but unfortunately, the worst has been confirmed.
"Connor Bedard fractured his jaw on Friday and has been placed on the injured reserve." - Chicago Blackhawks
Note that Nick Foligno, who came to Bedard's defense and dropped the gloves with Smith, also fractured his finger and is also placed on the injured list.
It's truly unfortunate for Bedard, as he was playing very well and was invited to the NHL All-Star Game for the first time. Let's hope he recovers in time and can still participate in the event.
Update: The young star will be out for four to six weeks and will consequently miss the All-Star Game.
