Even though the 2024-2025 National Hockey League season is still very young, fans could see some transactions announced shortly.

At least that's the opinion of Don Waddell, general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets, who made this statement to the media RG.org.

According to him, the setbacks of certain teams at the start of the season are changing the situation and he would not be surprised if the exchange market becomes active soon.

"When the performances of certain teams fall far short of expectations, I have seen teams in the past try to get back into the race. I expect that to be the case this year. There are teams right now, who I won't name, that are dealing with high expectations and are off to a slow start. I know some of my colleagues won't be patient forever."

Some teams like the Edmonton Oilers, the Colorado Avalanche, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Nashville Predators are part of the group of teams that are off to a slow start and the general managers of these teams could be active on the phone sooner rather than later.

"This is when we need to keep our eyes peeled. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing action across the league."

And the Canadiens in all this?

It would be surprising if the Habs were currently among the teams mentioned above, but it could be that Kent Hughes would be attentive to the requests of his counterparts to try to give them a helping hand by giving them a veteran who could help them in the short term. term.

Among the players who could interest other teams, there is certainly Christian Dvorak who is in the final year of his contract this year. The latter could bring little depth to certain teams who will certainly want to get out of trouble quickly.
