Yesterday, we learned that the Canadiens' General Manager, Kent Hughes, is reportedly highly active in the trade market in hopes of concluding a deal that would allow him to move up in the upcoming draft.

In line with this, Arpon Basu, a journalist with The Athletic, confirmed that the Habs had engaged in discussions with Mike Grier of the San Jose Sharks to ascertain the cost of acquiring the 4th overall pick. Additionally, Hughes has reportedly also touched base with the Anaheim Ducks about the possibility of striking a deal to secure Adam Fantilli.

The Canadiens' intentions for the upcoming June 28th appear quite clear: the organization aims to land a top-tier center in the form of Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, or Will Smith.

A substantial trade proposal involving the Canadiens and the Ducks has also been making the rounds on social media, sparking a flurry of discussions.

TO THE CANADIENS:

- The second overall pick

TO THE DUCKS:

- The fifth overall pick
- Juraj Slafkovsky

If you were in Kent Hughes' shoes, would you accept this trade?

Personally, we believe it's a steep price and would rather see Hughes offering the 31st pick and another prospect other than Juraj Slafkovsky to acquire Adam Fantilli. However, there's no doubt the Ducks' demands will be high.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on!
