A known expert has just made a big revelation concerning Logan Mailloux
The Montreal Canadiens are in the process of building a very solid defense, as the organization's top prospects will soon compete for the available positions with the big team.
We can think of Kaiden Guhle, Justin Barron, Jordan Harris, Arber Xhekaj, all of whom will experience internal competition in the coming years, mainly with the arrival of Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, and Logan Mailloux.
In connection with the 31st pick of the 2021 draft, while he was recently on 98.5 Sports, RDS prospect expert Stéphane Leroux made a significant revelation about Logan Mailloux.
He revealed that he had spoken with professional scouts who work for NHL teams, who told him this about the young defenseman:
"He's a guy who lacks experience. Even then, the future will tell, but I have scouts who told me about Logan Mailloux that he might be the second-best defenseman of his draft. Remember that he was drafted at the end of the first round, but if he hadn't had that mark on his record, he would probably have been drafted earlier. If you look at his games with the London Knights, I've watched several, he looked like a man with children." - Stéphane Leroux
Wow! That's a huge statement coming from league scouts, especially since talented defensemen like Owen Power, Luke Hughes, Simon Edvinsson, Brandt Clarke, Corson Ceulemans, Carson Lambos, and Olen Zellweger, among others, were selected during this draft.
Assuming Power would be the best, as he was the first overall pick of this class, that means that in the eyes of some scouts, Mailloux might become better than all the rest.
Although in my opinion, Hughes, Edvinsson, Clarke, and Zellweger have a lead over the CH's prospect, it is still possible that at 25, due to his physique and his shot, he becomes one of the best defensemen of the 2021 class.
