A major rumor has just been confirmed regarding Joel Edmundson

During the last NHL trade deadline, many fans and observers were caught off guard to learn that veteran defenseman Joel Edmundson was not traded.
It is legitimate to wonder if the rumors about his departure were unfounded or exaggerated, or if there was genuine interest from NHL teams. The answer to these questions was provided by Stu Cowan.
"Joel Edmundson would most likely have been traded at the last trade deadline by the Montreal Canadiens if it weren't for injuries."
It is now 100% confirmed that the rumor that Edmundson was not traded due to his injuries was true, as we already suspected. Several reliable sources had previously suggested that the defenseman could have been traded for a first round pick in the 2023 draft, just like Sean Monahan.
It is disappointing to see that injuries may have cost the Canadiens two valuable first round picks in one of the best draft classes in recent years.
