However, since the Canadiens reached the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the organization has been facing significant difficulties, finishing at the bottom of the standings for two consecutive seasons.
This outcome was somewhat expected as the new management team composed of Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton embarked on a complete rebuilding process. Hoping to transition to a younger roster, the two men aim to build a team that can achieve success year after year.
However, a photo has recently resurfaced on social media, and the observation is simply striking. It is the photo taken right after Artturi Lehkonen's game-winning goal against the Golden Knights, which notably sent the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final.
However, what stands out the most is that only seven players from that famous team are still with the organization two years later. Wow! It's incredible how much the face of the team has changed in such a short time!
Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Brendan Gallagher, Josh Anderson, Jake Evans, Joel Armia, and Jake Allen are the only ones who have remained with the team. Carey Price and Paul Byron now appear to have roles within the management, but unless there is a major surprise, they will not be lacing up their skates for a game next season.
We strongly hope that the rebuilding efforts led by Kent Hughes will work, as we are eager to experience strong emotions like those felt in the summer of 2021.
