A significant piece of information has just been confirmed in the Logan Mailloux case
While Logan Mailloux's selection was highly controversial at the time, the young defenseman has rapidly developed into one of the organization's top prospects. Indeed, he had an outstanding season with the London Knights this year, amassing an impressive total of 33 goals and 44 assists (77 points) in 80 games.
Moreover, some observers even believe that he could surprise the team's management during the upcoming training camp and earn a spot in Martin St. Louis' lineup at the beginning of the season. However, Mailloux has not yet received the official authorization from Gary Bettman to play in the NHL.
Furthermore, the Canadiens' general manager, Kent Hughes, confirmed Renaud Lavoie's information, stating that Logan Mailloux did indeed meet with the league commissioner at the beginning of July. However, despite their discussion, Gary Bettman has not yet rendered a final verdict in this matter, and the waiting has become increasingly worrisome.
Even though the meeting between the two men is positive news and represents a step forward for the defenseman, it will be necessary to wait before Logan Mailloux receives the green light to play in the NHL in the 2023-2024 season.
