The news just broke from the American television side, as popular analyst and former CH player, Chris Chelios, was shown the door from the sports channel ESPN.
For now, no one knows whether it's because of a refusal to extend his contract or if it's an administrative decision related to comments about him from fans.
It's quite possible that he might find a job quite quickly in the field, as he is a well-respected member of the Hall of Fame in the world of media.
Hall of Famer Chris Chelios will not return to ESPN as an in-studio NHL analyst next season, a source with knowledge on ESPN staffing confirmed.
Chelios won't have his contract renewed in a move that's part of the larger cuts taking place at Disney.
