A young defender of the Canadiens has just been traded

A prospect from the Montreal Canadiens organization has just been traded, as we learn that the Niagara IceDogs have acquired young defender Daniil Sobolev from the Windsor Spitfires. In return, Windsor gets three draft picks.
A fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft, the 20-year-old Russian defenseman has recorded nine points in 48 games. Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 210 pounds, he is a robust right-handed defensive defenseman.
In fact, according to Cap Friendly, the Tricolore holds his rights until the summer of 2025. It will be interesting to see his progression this season, whether he will be able to secure a contract in the AHL at the end of his final junior campaign this year.
